Duo Spiritoso [guitarists Jeffrey McFadden and Andrew Zohn] was formed in 2004 and has performed in Europe and North America to high audience praise. Considered widely to be among the top new guitar duos in the world, they continue to delight with unique programming and a characteristic energy in their performances. Duo Spiritoso has been invited to perform at major guitar festivals including the Toronto Guitar Symposium, the Guitar Foundation of America Convention, Kitare Lipica (Slovenia) and the Festival Mediterraneo della Chitarra (Italy). They have performed across the North America and Europe, their most recent appearances being in Rotterdam, Naples and Toronto. This season will include dates in Holland, Italy, Spain, Canada and the USA. Their unique programming has included such diverse composers as Bela Bartok, Sergio Assad, and Celso Machado and Antonio Vivaldi.

Andrew Zohn is both an acclaimed performer and composer. He has won prizes in five international competitions including the Guitar Foundation of America and the Stotsenberg International. Zohn has been a featured solo artist, orchestral soloist, and lecturer throughout North America, and in Europe and South America. In addition to his position of assistant professor of music at Columbus State University, he also serves on the faculties of the Guitar on the Mediterranean Festival in Italy. His numerous compositions and arrangements for guitar are widely distributed through Les Productions d’Oz, Canada.
Jeffrey McFadden has performed to great acclaim across North America and Europe after winning numerous awards and competition prizes in the 1990’s. He has recorded seven highly celebrated CD’s with the Naxos label which have sold in the tens of thousands of copies. He is heard frequently on CBC/Radio-Canada and on NPR in the United States. A lecturer in guitar at the University of Toronto, McFadden is also a sought-after producer, clinician and editor.
